The Space Florida Foundation, the space authority of the State of Florida in the U.S., celebrated the Florida-Israel Innovation Partnership Program’s success this week with a visit to Israel. During the visit, the state’s governor awarded Nano Dimension with the Florida Business Ambassador Award.

The Space Florida Foundation is a partnership promoting research, development and the commercialization of aerospace and technology projects.

Nano Dimension Chief Business Officer and Co-founder Simon Fried received the award at an event attended by the Israel Innovation Authority and Space Florida. The award is in appreciation for Nano Dimension’s joint development projects with Harris Corporation and Semplastics Inc. Harris Corporation is an American technology company, defense contractor and information technology services. Semplastics supplies precision plastic engineered components to a broad range of industries including semiconductor, medical, aerospace, and oil and gas industries.

“Through the Florida-Israel Innovation Partnership, we have worked together to support businesses that are helping strengthen Florida and Israel as global leaders for innovation,” Governor Scott said. “I was proud to present some of the many Florida and Israeli participants with a Governor’s Business Ambassador Award today, and we will continue to work closely with our partners in Israel to support projects that will lead to the creation of new opportunities for our families.”

Nano Dimension and Harris are developing 3D printed electronic modules for space applications such as next-generation RF amplifiers for small satellites designed to reduce the size, weight, power, and cost of space systems. With Semplastics, Nano Dimension is using the DragonFly 2020 Pro 3D Printer to develop 3D ceramic materials for aerospace applications.

In Israel this week, Gov. Scott is leading a trade mission delegation of nearly 70 business and education leaders. Nano Dimension was among the 16 participating companies to receive the Business Ambassador Award from the governor.
